Bio
Autumn Bree is an emerging artist with a multidisciplinary practice, specializing in anthropomorphic sculpture and interactive installation. She currently resides in Oakland, California, where she has an interdisciplinary art studio and workshop. In addition, she has created and actively runs the molding and casting department for a major tech company, where she is a model maker and fabricator working in product design and development. Autumn has also been employed in art administration and academia, as a designer and creative developer for innovative production companies, and in art production and restoration at multiple interactive museums within the Bay Area, including as a studio artist for internationally-famed wax museum, Madame Tussaud's. One of her most challenging, yet exciting positions has been within the entertainment industry, as lead artist for projects working with engineers to build autonomously-swimming dolphins, and on components of animatronic dinosaurs for Universal Studio’s Jurassic World ride.
Autumn is originally from the Chicago area. Prior to moving to San Francisco, she lived as a desert dweller in Tucson, Arizona, where in addition to the arts, she worked in human services, maintaining certification as a behavioral health technician. She achieved her MFA in studio arts from Southwest University of Visual Arts, on a full academic scholarship, and her Bachelors of Fine Arts from The Art Center Design College, focusing on sculpture and installation. Her current work centers on our struggle as human beings to navigate social environments, as we are innately driven by desires to understand, gain, and connect.
